This Weekend (Oct. 19-21) in Arlington

There are plenty of Fall-related events around town this weekend. Many churches are having their fall carnivals and the haunted houses are in full-swing. You can have your picture made in the Pumpkin Patch or attend the Texas Guitar Show. And, as always, there is lots of great music to choose from. I bet you can find something fun for your family to do.

Here the North Texas Explorer, Geologist Devin Dennie, tours the Legends of the Game Museum at the Ballpark in Arlington, home of the Texas Rangers. The Museum hours are:

April-September
Game Days: 9:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Non Game Days: Monday - Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  Sunday, 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

October-March
Closed Sunday and Monday
Tuesday - Saturday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Looking for Love?

801380_47406908_1.jpgThis may be old news to some of you, but apparently I’ve been living in a box for the past few months because I just found out that Arlington was named the #3 city in the United States for meeting men over 35.  Oprah even featured the city on her show back in April. 

Men’s Health Magazine, in conjunction with The Oprah Winfrey Show, calculated the men-friendliness of different cities based on 7 categories:  ratios of single men to single women and of gay to straight; divorce rates; fitness; philanthropy; education; thrill factor (places with fun stuff that makes hearts race and bonds form).  Here’s what they had to say about our fair city: (more…)
