After Dark in the Park
Oct 12-14
Cost: $6
River Legacy Parks
A great alternative to the “spooky” that is the norm of the season, this family-friendly fall festival features professional storytelling, a starlight stroll through the woods, karaoke, pumpkin patch, a unique children’s craft and activities area, concessions and much more. Fall Festival
Saturday, Oct 27; 6 - 9pm
Elzie Odom Recreation Center
Cost: $5 entry fee
Safe, supervised fun activities including Trick or Treat trail, Bounce House, skating, face painting, hair painting, scream contest, costume contest, pumpkin smash, rock climbing, and much more! Ages 3 & up. For more information call 817-462-3700.

Pumpkin Patch Pictures
Saturday, Oct. 20; 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Arlington Animal Services, located at 5920 W. Pioneer Parkway
Cost: $5 for each photo
Bring the kids, dogs and cats to have their Pumpkin Patch pictures made. For more information, call Arlington Animal Services at 817-451-3436.

Fright Fest at Six Flags Over Texas
Weekends, Sep. 28 - Oct. 28, 2007
Six Flags Over Texas
Cost: Regular Park Admission (coupons may be available)
It’s thrills by day and chills by night at the annual Halloween Fright Fest. Bring the little ones in the daytime for trick-or-treating and kid-friendly fun. When the sun goes down, Six Flags morphs into a shadow land of ghosts and ghouls. Roller coasters become monstrosities in motion. And scares await you at every turn. 3 Haunted Houses, a Haunted Hay Ride and 12 acres of pure excitement. Open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in October plus nightly beginning Oct. 25th, through Halloween. See website for more info and a map to the Texas Scaregrounds. Proceeds benefit several charities.

Phantasms Halloween Scream park (Mansfield)
Sep. 21 - Nov. 3, 2007
Cost: $21.00 for a combo ticket

Nightmare at the Wax Museum (Grand Prairie)
Fridays & Saturdays thru Oct. 27; Oct. 28 & Oct. 31
Cost: $18.00 (coupons available at Whataburger)
Dallas Fort Worth’s original Haunted Event at the Louis Tussaud’s Palace of Wax. The haunted museum is full of movie monsters such as Dracula, Freddy Krueger, and the Werewolf. Dungeon of Doom
Sep. 28 - Oct. 31, 2007

Descend into the dark and deadly basement of the Arlington Museum of Art. Terror reigns all weekend nights beginning September 28 thru October 31st. They will be open every day from October 26 thru 31st. Haunting Hayrides
Oct. 26 - 27, 2007
Cost: $5.00
Haunting Hayrides is a fun family activity. Located in Arlington on 4.5 acres. Take a ride to the haunted woods on a trailer of hay. Walk thru the haunted woods (if you dare!). Watch out for the Headless Horseman and other scary creatures on horseback. See www.HauntingHayrides.com for details.

The Boneyard Haunted House
Sep. 28 - Oct. 31, 2007

The Boneyard has indoor tickets, concessions, bands, festival - all under one roof - plus paved parking! Last year,the Boneyard was submitted to the Guinness Book of World Records as the the “Largest walk through Haunted House in the World”. The haunt was measured at over half a mile long!
