Me & My Monkey - Great Guys, Great Music
Kudos to Me & My Monkey for a fab show on Friday night. I enjoyed every minute of it. These guys are witty, fun to watch and, above all else, sound terrific.
Rodney Bollinger is dead-on as John Lennon, from his look and mannerisms to his sound. George Jara plays a mean guitar and does a great George Harrison tribute. Paul Sacco, as Paul McCartney, is fantastic. I had the pleasure of meeting him and not only is he a fabulous musician and singer, but a really great guy as well. ”Big” Mike Richardson, of the Party Crashers, did a guest spot on keyboards and nailed Billy Preston’s piano work on Get Back. And I have to say that Brad Swiger, substituting for Michael Daniel as Ringo Starr, totally rocked the house on the drum solo in the Abbey Road medley (and I’m not just saying that because he’s my little brother). *grin*
When you get a chance, make sure you check these guys out. You’ll think you’ve been zapped back
to the 60’s for a Beatles show (minus all the screaming teenage girls). They’ll be back in town on August 24 at Stumpy’s Blues Bar. You can see their complete schedule by visiting their MySpace page.
