More Details Emerging About Triple Murder & Standoff
The man involved in yesterday’s standoff with police has been identified as Arthur Jackson, 32. Jackson was involved in an hours long standoff with police, before leading them on a chase and driving his car into Lake Arlington. Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jackson’s victims are identified as his estranged wife, Lisa Ford Jackson, 36, and her two children, Tyson Adams, 7, and Jaelynn Ford, 13.
The 3 year old he dropped at Mayfield Road Baptist Church is believed to be the daughter of Arthur and Lisa Jackson, Ariana, the couple’s only child together. Reportedly, the wife of his first cousin was a daycare worker at the church.
The house on Carter Drive, where he parked his car and was involved in the standoff with police, is believed to be the house of one of his relatives.
Fort Worth police are trying to piece together what led to the murders. The couple had recently seperated and police say they had been called to the house twice recently.
Neighbors say Jackson appeared to be a good father, playing with his step-children, who called him “Daddy.” They also described Jackson as always smiling and happy.
Jackson was a baggage handler at American Airlines, but authorities say he may have had some financial trouble. That, coupled with his marital problems, apparently pushed him over the edge, leading to yesterday’s tragic events.
I never understand why people have to bring children into their problems. It is heartbreaking to think what the 7 year old and the thirteen year old had to go through, and what the 3 year old might have witnessed.
