A mother of 3 was arrested on suspicion of injury to a child after her toddler son died from injuries he received from a fall. Ebony Thorne, 24, said she and her other children were sleeping when she heard Joshua, almost 2, crying. She says she applied a Popsicle (yes, I said Popsicle) to his head and he went back to sleep. His father later found him to be unresponsive and 911 was called. Joshua was pronounced dead on the scene. Police are awaiting autopsy results while they investigate.

The city inspected about half of the 134 units in the complex and they received a score of -168 (yeah that’s bad). The city gave them 24 hours to fix the most serious of the violations and 30 days to finish the rest of the repairs.

Arlington had no takers for it’s “free” houses. The city had 4 homes that were offered up to anyone who could afford to move them and bring them up to code. They city had hoped someone would move the properties to save them from demoliton. Not one application was received.
