Notable News for Thursday, August 9
One person was killed and three others were hospitalized early this morning when they lost control, flipped and hit a light pole at Fox Hunt Drive and West Sublett Road. The car was carrying 5 people, 3 of whom were thrown from the vehicle and unconscious. One was trapped inside the vehicle and another was able to get out of the vehicle and was conscious. The injured were taken to John Peter Smith hospital in Fort Worth.
UTA has planned a new basketball arena to be built at West Mitchell and South Cooper street. If Regents approve the project, the center will replace the “South 40″ parking lot, taking away 440 parking spaces. Currently the ‘Movin’ Mavs’ play on stage in Texas Hall, which is more a performing arts center than sports arena. There is no doubt the new arena will be a welcome addition to UTA but my question is, where will students park?
